Joyce Harrison Trapp, 63, of the Homer and Stratford area, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002 at the Hamilton Hospital in Webster City. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Foster Funeral Home with Pastor Kent Kastler officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6-9 p.m. and prior to the services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Joyce Loveda Harrison, daughter of Fred and Pauline Daniels Harrison, was born Feb. 8, 1939 at Webster City. She graduated valedictorian of the Stratford High School in 1957. She was a 1960 graduate of Iowa State University. On Dec. 10, 1960, she married Glenn Trapp in Webster City. The couple later divorced. For many years, she owned and operated The Lamp Post, a fish, bait, gas and grocery store near Lake Whitney, Texas. In the early 1990's, she moved from Whitney, Texas to Lehigh, and three years ago moved to the family homestead near Homer.

Survivors include her mother, Pauline Harrison, Lehigh; son, Michael Trapp (Beth) and grandson, Corey, Arlington, Texas; son Mark Trapp (Donna), Midlothian, Texas, sister Janice Anderson, Rochester, Minn.; niece Jill Barclay and nephew Jeff Anderson, both of Rochester, Minn. Her father, Fred Harrison, and grandparents, Lige and Mattie Harrison, and Irwin and Tina Daniels preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Homer Methodist Church. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed wild flowers, birds and nature. Her interests included crafts, history and reading.

She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
