John R. Lyons, 63, Webster City, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002 at his home. Funeral services were held Monday at the Foster Funeral Home with Rev. John Grebner officiating. Burial was in the Graceland Cemetery.

John Richard Lyons, son of Harley and Frieda Theode Lyons, was born on July 9, 1939 at Webster City. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Webster City in 1957. On July 22, 1962 he married Sheryll Rae Thompson at Kamrar. The couple resided in Webster City. He was employed by Electrolux for the past 23 years as an electrician.

John is survived by his wife, Sheryll, a son, Rick Lyons, daughter and son-in-law, Lanette and Michael "Chubby" Smith, brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Nancy Lyons, all of Webster City, sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Larry McCrea of Mesa, Ariz., several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Darlene Greenley. John was a former member of the Webster City Moose Lodge #735. He was active in a variety of league bowling teams for over 40 years. He enjoyed hunting.
