Nettie Scholz, 91, Webster City, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002 at Crestview Senior Living. Following cremation, memorial services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Nettie C. Mathie, daughter of Enos and Nettie Shaefer Mathie, was born Feb. 28, 1911 at North Canton, Ohio. She attended North Canton schools and Akron City Hospital School of Nursing at Akron, Ohio in 1933. She worked for 10 years, for the Akron City Hospital and the Children's Hospital at Akron. During World War II, she served with the Army Nurse Corps (1943 to 1947) stationed at Lowry Field at Denver, Colo. and Kessler Field at Biloxi, Miss. Following her discharge, she worked in Iowa and Ohio. In 1954, she returned to Webster City, residing with her sister, Mrs. E.F. Rambo. On Feb. 27, 1960, she married Howard F. Scholz at Iowa Falls. The couple resided at Webster City. She worked at Hamilton County Public Hospital until her retirement in 1971. Mr. Scholz died May 3, 1979. She continued to reside in Webster City and at Crestview since Sept. 17, 1999.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and David Weiss of Kent, Wash, Sandra and Mitch Parrish of Willow Springs, NC.; four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, a great-great grandson; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her two brothers and four sisters.

She was a member of First Congregational Church, church circles, Webster City Women's Club and various nursing organizations.
