Wayne E. Conley, 68, of Webster City, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002 at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, with Rev. John Flaherty, celebrant. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Webster City. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and at the church after 9 a.m. Wednesday. Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m., followed by a scripture service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Wayne Edward Conley, son of Joseph and Violet Reuter Conley was born Aug. 17, 1934 on a farm near Duncombe. He attended Freedom #3 rural school in Freedom township, junior high and high school in Clarion, graduating in 1952. He started farming with his father in Wall Lake Township of Wright County. On June 8, 1955, he married Ilys Brown at St. Thomas Aquinas. The couple farmed in Blairsburg and Cass Township. In 1991, they moved to Webster City and he retired in 1995 because of failing health.

Mr. Conley is survived by his wife, Ilys; daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Keith Kropf of Newton; Beth and Monte Assadipour of Fort Dodge; son and daughter-in-law, Leland and Wendy Conley of Webster City; grandchildren, Amy and Drew Kropf; Elissa, Alex and Zoe Assadipour; Angie Cloud; sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Galen Fjetland of Goldfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas, Hamilton County Farm Bureau, Stonega Co-op advisory board and Izaak Walton League.
