Ethyl Martin, 90, Webster City, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002 at Crestview Manor. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Foster Funeral Home, with Rev. Gerald Caquelin officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday and prior to the service on Saturday.

Ethyl Ida Kellogg, daughter of Theron and Agnes Madden Kellogg, was born March 31, 1912 at Alden. She received her education in the Williams Public School. In 1930, she married Martin Burnside. To this union, one daughter was born. They were later divorced. On March 3, 1963, she married Floyd Martin at Gladbrook. The couple resided at Webster City. She had been employed at the Super Valu Grocery Store, Curve Inn Cafe, Jim's Grill and Nissen's, all at Webster City, and the Sunnyside Cafe in Gladbrook. Mr. Martin died in 1974. She had resided at Crestview Manor since May of 2001.

Mrs. Martin is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carmen and George Sweazey, Webster City, step-children Sharon Hoshaw of Stratford, Betty Anderson of Spencer, Cecil Martin of Kountze, Texas, grandchildren, Pam and Bob Black, LeClaire, Terry and Denny Manning of Bondurant, Chris and Bruce Hovey, South Sioux, Neb., Cheri and Steve Willardson of Springdale, Ar., George and Virginia Sweazey, Webster City, 9 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; several step great-great-grandchildren, sisters, Ruth Dickson of Williams, June Wilson of Story City, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Chuck Sweazey.
