Lyle Park, 79, of Webster City, died Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at Stratford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Cass Township Cemetery, north of Webster City, with Rev. Doug Tiffany, officiating. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday until 10:45 a.m. Saturday. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #191.

Lyle Howard Park, son of Howard and Fern Trinkle Park, was born November 6, 1925 at Webster City. He received his education in the Webster City school system. During W.W. II, he served with the U.S. Navy as a fireman-first class, in the Pacific Theatre of Action, on the U.S.S. California. On August 26, 1950 he married Joan Alma Hurst at Webster City. The couple resided at Webster City, Baltimore, MD, Boone, Des Moines, then returned to Webster City in March of 2004. He had done carpentry work in all of these locations. He also operated the Park Sharp Shop, a saw sharpening business, while at Des Moines.

Mr. Park is survived by his wife, Joan; daughter, Lyla Park of Des Moines; grandchildren, Andrea Hayes of Gainesville, FL; Sara Hayes of Sioux Falls, SD; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Donald and Francis Park.
