Norman "Sib" Richardson, 77, of Webster City, died Friday, June 10, 2005 at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, with Rev. John Flaherty, celebrant. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home and Cremation Center from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #191.

Norman Dean Richardson, son of Carl and Cora Yates Richardson, was born August 30, 1927 at Webster City. He received his education in the Webster City school system, graduating from Lincoln High. He also graduated from Webster City Junior College. During the Korean War, he served with the U.S. Navy and for several years was a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserves. On September 22, 1950, he married Betty Mae Samuelson at Webster City. He was employed in the parts department of Samuelson, Hight, Cress and Francis Chevrolet dealerships for 30 years, retiring in 1982. Mrs. Richardson died June 6, 1967. He continued to reside in Webster City.

Sib is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Melanie Richardson of Ankeny; daughter, Julie Richardson of Ames; grandchildren Jake, Ben and Erin Richardson, all of Ankeny; sisters, Pauline Richardson of Webster City; Helen Wehrheim of Solon; brother, Morris Richardson of Solon; several nieces and nephews, including Jim Richardson of Webster City and cousins.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Connie Rae Richardson; brothers, Burt and Sterling (Todd) Richardson; sisters, Dorothy Bohlen and Frances Richardson.

He was a former member of the Webster City Moose Lodge, an avid hunter and fisherman, a sports fan and especially enjoyed the Hawkeyes.
