Eleanor Rex, 84, died from complications of a stroke Saturday, June 4, 2005 at her Arbor Springs home in West Des Moines. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 7 at the United Methodist Church in Ellsworth, IA.

Eleanor Grace was born to Rev. Clifford and Anice Liming on November 13, 1920 in University Park Oskaloosa, IA. She graduated from high school in Larabee, IA and attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls for one year. In 1944 she married Clyde Rex and in the thirty years of their marriage lived on farms near Radcliffe and Ellsworth. She later lived in Jewell for over 20 years and recently moved to Des Moines to be near her daughters.

Eleanor was active in church work and a member of the Ellsworth United Methodist Church, the Women's Society, the Deb Heart Club and was a Jewell Food Pantry volunteer. She enjoyed tatting, gardening and flowers. Her love of reading led her to work at the Bible Bookstore in Story City for two years. She enjoyed music and was devoted to her family.

Eleanor is survived by her four daughters, Clydene (Larry) Branda of Clive, LeAnn (Chip) Ventling of Highland, IN, Debbie Rex of Earlham and Jill Beni of Des Moines; brother, Lenard Liming of Ames; twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Delbert and Lawrence Liming.

Memorial contributions are directed to the Ellsworth United Methodist Church or Family Radio Worldwide Ministry.
