Walter "Buster" Hilpipre, 77, of Webster City, died Thursday, May 26, 2005 at the Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at Fosters Chapel, with Rev. John Grebner officiating. Burial will be in the Cass Township Cemetery, north of Webster City. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday.

Walter Dale Hilpipre, son of Edmund and Gladys Capsel Hilpipre, was born July 16, 1927 at Clarion. He received his education in the Clarion school system. On December 24, 1949 he married Mary Lou Keller at Webster City. The couple resided at Webster City. He worked at Raven Construction for a short time, he was employed at Electrolux for 40 years, retiring in 1992. He worked part-time repairing washers and dryers. Mrs. Hilpipre died March 21, 1999 and he continued to reside at Webster City.

Mr. Hilpipre is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ellen and Dennis Koestner; sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Brenda Hilpipre; Walter "Pierre" Hilpipre, Jr.; Dick and Sheila Hilpipre, all of Webster City; Dean and Marlys Hilpipre of Alden; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, David Hilpipre in 2002; his parents; step-father, Glen "Smoke" Frazier, who had a tremendous part in Walter's life; step-sister, Wanda Witte.

He was a longtime member of the United Auto Workers Union #442 of Webster City.
