Marie Amsden, 89, Webster City, died Nov. 22, 1992 at her home. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Congregational United Church of Christ with the Rev. Ward Malloy officiating. Burial will be held prior to the service at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation is after 6 p.m. today at the Foster Funeral Home until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Lillian Marie Garth, daughter of John and Lillian (Selder) Garth was born July 1, 1903 in Webster City. She graduated from Webster City High School, then attended the Minneapolis School of Music for three years. She taught piano and also was an organist and soloist.

In June of 1928, she married Reuel Buxton at Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City. Her husband died in 1957. She then worked for a short time at Buell Motors.

On Nov. 13, 1961 she married Theodore R. Amsden at Omaha, Neb. The couple resided in Webster City. Her second husband died in 1986.

She is survived by a niece and nephew, Genevieve Carroll of Webster City and George Vest of Iowa Falls. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, three half-brothers, and one half-sister.

She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Morning Circle, Bridge Club and Hedonist Club. She was also a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star.
