Francis Helen Mark, 97, Iowa Falls died Thursday, May 5, 2005 at the Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls. Funeral services were held Monday at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Williams. Rev. Rick Layman officiated. Burial will be in the Williams Cemetery in Williams. Surls Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Francis Helen Grey was born July 21, 1907 in Marathon, Iowa, the daughter of Gust and Rena (Budznsh) Grey. She graduated from Lincoln Lee Consolidated School in 1925. She married Earl Mark on Feb. 22, 1928 at Storm Lake, Iowa and was a homemaker. Earl and Helen farmed northeast of Storm Lake until moving to a farm south of Williams in the spring of 1936. Helen has been a resident of Heritage Care Center since November of 1998. She belonged to Order of Eastern Star in Williams and the American Legion Auxiliary, Neighborhood Club in Williams and United Methodist Church in Williams.

Survivors are a son, John Mark and his wife Sharon of El Dorado Hills, CA, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three daughter-in-laws, Darlene Mark of Williams, Sharon Mark of Knoxville, TN, and Sue Mark of Casper, Wyoming, one sister and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl in 1968, three sons, Earl Jr. in 1990, David in 1991, and Dale in 2001, and nine brothers and sisters.
