Nellie C. Boozell, 87, Ames, a former Webster City resident, died Friday, Oct. 28 at the Riverside Manor Care Center in Ames. A mass of Christian burial was held at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Father Ardel Barta officiating. Burial was at the Calvary Cemetery. Scripture services were held Sunday, Oct. 30 at 8 p.m. at the Foster Funeral home.

Nellie Catherine Walsh, daughter of John and Catherine Comisky Walsh, was born July 6, 1901 in Livingston County, Illinois. She received her education in Williams and graduated from Mt. Carmel College in Clinton.

She married Virgil G. Boozell on Oct. 24, 1925 in Williams. The couple had always resided in Webster City.

Mrs. Boozell was preceded in death by her husband in July, 1984. She had resided at Riverside Manor since September, 1984.

She is survived by two daughters and four sons: Lorene (Mrs. Don) Byrne, Mesa, Arizona; Patricia (Mrs. Bill) Francis, Ames; Donald, Bloomington, Illinois; James, Des Moines; Vincent, Mason City; Michael, Falls Church, Virginia; 26 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; two brothers and one sister: James Walsh, Long Beach, California; Edward Walsh, Spencer; Marcella Keigan, Litchfield, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Ames, and was a former member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, the Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters.
