Virgil G. Boozell, 79, longtime Webster City resident, died Sunday morning at the Emmanuel Hospital in Omaha, Neb. where he had been a patient for two days.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Ardel Barta officiating and with burial in the Calvary Cemetery.

A scripture service will be held at 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Foster Funeral home.

Virgil Glenn Boozell, son of Edward and Margaret White Boozell, was born June 24, 1905 at Webster City, where he was reared and educated.

He was united in marriage Oct. 24, 1925 to Nellie Walsh at Williams and the couple resided in Webster City where he was employed for many years with the former Beam Mfg. Co.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters and four sons, Mrs. Don (Lorene) Byrne, Bellevue, Neb.; Mrs. Bill (Patty) Francis of Ames; Donald Boozell of Bloomington, Ill.; James Boozell of Des Moines; Vincent Boozell of Mason City and Michael Boozell, Falls Church, Va.; 26 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Andrews of Manson, Iowa and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a grandson; his parents; four brothers and five sisters.

He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
