Jennie Tapper Roberts, 98, of Webster City, died Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at Crestview Senior Living. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Foster Funeral & Cremation Center with Rev. Pete Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and prior to services Friday at Foster's.

Jennie J. Tapper, daughter of Harm and Antje VanHeiden Tapper was born December 13, 1906 in Webster City. She attended Prairie Lawn School at Independence Township in Hamilton County and graduated from Webster City High School in 1925. She taught in Hamilton and Butler county rural schools from 1925 to 1943, when she moved to Denver, CO. In 1949, she moved to Bremerton, WA. On July 12, 1949 she married Lloyd Roberts in Seattle, WA. The couple resided in Bremerton until they moved to Webster City in 1951. She graduated from Drake University in 1965. Jennie had taught in the Webster City Schools from 1955 to 1971. During her teaching career, she had taught school 33 years and 3 months. Lloyd died on May 31, 1976. She had been a resident of the Crestview Apartments for over 10 years.

Jennie is survived by her sister, Etta Sherman of Iowa Falls; sisters-in-law Catherine Tapper of Webster City, Dorotha Tapper of Iowa Falls; nieces and nephews, Erma Studley, Raymond and Joan Luppes, Roger and Linda Tapper, Donna and Gail Utter, Connie and Dan Vandermark and Raymond Tapper.

In addition to her husband, Lloyd she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Harm and Sye Tapper and sisters Hilka Luppes and Anna M. Tapper; niece, Eleanor Bernard and nephew Melroy Luppes.

Jennie was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church where she had been active in the women's circle. Her memberships included Women's Club of Webster City, Hamilton Hospital Auxiliary, Senior Citizens Group and the Iowa State Teacher's Association.
