Julie Kloppenborg Mark, 44, of West Des Moines, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2005 at the Foster Funeral & Cremation Center with Rev. John Grebner officiating. Burial will be in the Cass Township Cemetery, north east of Webster City, with graveside military rites conducted by the United States Navy Reserve Colorguard. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and prior to services on Monday at Fosters.

Julie Yvonne Kloppenborg, daughter and Blaine and Nancy Scott Kloppenborg, was born on March 29, 1961 in Newton. She graduated from Webster City Senior High School and the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor's in elementary education. Julie served in the U.S. Navy Reserves, as a Dental Technician, (DTI) where she had been stationed in West Africa, Ghana and El Salvador. Julie's interests were focused on her duty as a navy reservist, her friends and family and she enjoyed collecting stuffed teddy bears.

She is survived by her father, Blaine Kloppenborg and her brother Scott Kloppenborg, both of Webster City; husband Bryan Mark and step-children, Chris, Jackie and Melissa Mark; aunts and uncles, Mr. and Mrs. Herb Wilson of Titusville, FL., Mr. and Mrs. George Rackelmann of Sacramento, CA., Mrs. Judy Grimes of Indianapolis, IN., Mrs. Ruby Davis of Newton, Mrs. Ruth Hensley of Baltimore, MD.; many cousins and her special friends, Lisa Vanscoy and Donna Balzer.

Julie was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Kloppenborg; and her sister-in-law, Judy Kloppenborg.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City.

Memorials may be directed to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Research Foundation or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
