Joyce A. Romp, 80, Altoona, a former Randall resident, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001 at Kavanagh House on Grand in West Des Moines. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Elim Lutheran Church in Randall with Rev. Jim Norem officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell. A memorial fund has been established for the Elim Lutheran Church in Randall and the Kavanagh House on Grand in West Des Moines.

Joyce Arlene Kolling was born Feb. 11, 1921 near Jewell to Anton and Alice Peterson Kolling. She was baptized August 31, 1921 and later confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Joyce was a 1939 graduate of Randall High School. On June 27, 1941 Joyce married H. Glenn Romp in Bethany, Mo. She worked at Collegiate Manufacturing, Carriage House and 3-M in Ames, retiring in 1986. She lived in Randall until 1998, moving to an apartment in Jewell and then to the Altoona Health Care Center in Altoona. Joyce loved flowers, music and her little dog, Mickie.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald D. and Georgia Romp of Jewell, John M. and Betty Romp of San Angelo, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Geneva J. and Gale Price of Altoona; 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn in 1966; her daughter and son-in-law, Gleneva J. and Duane Skinner; a son, Clifford J. Romp; a brother and three sisters.
