Pauline L. Sundberg, 87, Webster City, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001 at Crestview Manor Care Center in Webster City. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery in Madrid with Rev. Marcus Badgeley to officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service at the Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Madrid.

Pauline Lucille Baldwin, daughter of Rollie D. and Corrinne G. Stuart Baldwin, was born May 30, 1914 in Des Moines. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines and the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. She taught elementary school in Afton, Elkhart and Madrid. She married A. Merrill Sundberg on August 30, 1940 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Des Moines. The couple lived in Madrid for 55 years prior to moving to Webster City in 1995. She had been a resident of Crestview Manor for nearly two years.

Survivors are her husband, Merrill of Webster City; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Stephen and Bonnie Sundberg, Webster City; a daughter and son-in-law,, Anne and Larry Blankenship, Webster City; grandchildren, Alice and Wayne Barrett, Peter and Candy Cartwright, Matthew and Wendy Sundberg, Amy and Jeff Buttillo, Mike Sundberg and Daniel Blankenship; two step grandchildren, Adam and Jonathan Blankenship; six great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Paul Cartwright, Des Moines; sister-in-law Rachel Baldwin of West Des Moines and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Elinor and Ed Gilbert and Madrid; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Richard Baldwin, her daughter Sally Sundberg Cartwright in March of 1993 and a granddaughter Sonja Jean Cartwright in December of 1972.

Mrs. Sundberg was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City and was a former member of the Swede Point Questers. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Memorials may be directed to the Diamond K Kiwanis Children's Fund.
