Wilbur "Bill" Strauser, 67, Cheyenne, Wyo., died Monday, Oct. 15, 2001 at Denver VA Medical Center, Denver, Colo. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Williams with Rev. Richard Layman officiating. Burial will be in the Williams Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Surls Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Friday.

Wilbur "Bill" Strauser, son of Marvin and Maxine Branyord Strauser, was born August 16, 1934 in Iowa City. He married Virginia Howe on Dec. 13, 1959 at Williams. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a truck driver for various companies, retiring with ISH Trucking of Omaha in August of 2000. Mr. Strauser was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling in his RV. He was a member of the Webster City American Legion Post #191, Western and Central Teamsters, and a past mason.

Survivors are his wife, Virginia, Cheyenne, Wyo., daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Leslie Britson, Salix, Iowa, Toni Strauser, Cheyenne, Wyo., Tina and James Roberts, Dakota City, Neb., four grandchildren, Matthew and Alaina Roberts, Michael and Alexis Britson; his mother, Maxine Severson of Webster City, half sister, Shirley Gavin of Eagle Grove. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Strauser and step-father, Omer Severson.
