Mrs. Bessie Severson

Mrs. Amos (Bessie) Severson, 73, a longtime resident of Webster City, died Sunday morning at the Hamilton County hospital where she had been a patient for three weeks.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. David R. LaMaster officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Bessie Marie Legge, daughter of Harry and Jennie Godspell Legge, was born March 6, 1904, on a farm northeast of Webster City. She was reared and educated in the Duncombe community. On Dec. 20, 1922, she was united in marriage to Amos Severson, and the couple farmed in the Duncombe and Webster City area. For the last 31 years, they had farmed southwest of Webster City.

She is survived by her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Ellen) Evans of Webster City; one grandchild, Lyle Evans of Cresco; two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Jason Evans; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, and three half-brothers.

Mrs. Severson was baptized and confirmed in the Washington Lutheran church and was a member of the Get-Together club
