Ellen Evans, 70, Webster City

Ellen Evans, 70, Webster City, died Aug. 14, 1996, at the Integrated Health Service of Iowa in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 11 am. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. Roy Miltner officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at Foster Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Sunday until 8:30 a.m. Monday when the casket will be taken to the church.

Ellen Lorraine Severson, daughter of Amos and Bessie Legge Severson, was born Sept. 24, 1925, on a farm north of Duncombe. She attended a rural school northwest of Webster City and graduated from Webster City High School in 1943. She attended the University of Northern Iowa and taught in rural schools in Hamilton County. On Aug. 14, 1948, she married Robert Evans in Webster City. The couple farmed west and south of Webster City. They moved to Webster City in December of 1993.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; son and daughter-in-law, Lyle and Denise Evans, Webster City; grandchildren, Matthew, Jason, Dan, and Megan Evans.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandson, David Evans. She was a member of the Hamilton County Heritage Hunters and the Neighborhood Club. The family requests that memorials be given to Meals on Wheels.
