Delores Elaine Larson passed away peacefully on March 5 at 7:45 p.m. at Bethany Life Nursing Home and Suncrest Hospice. She was born on October 15, 1924 in Jewell, IA to Joseph and Anna Olson. She attended country school and later taught at country school. She attended Waldorf College, Forest City, IA. She married Frederick Larson on September 24, 1944. They lived happily together until 2011 when Frederick passed away.

Delores was a faithful member of Elim Lutheran Church, sang in the Elim choir for years, taught Sunday School, was involved with the ELCA and ALCW, faithfully helped with Selscap and was organist also at Elim for years. She was a member of the GK Study Club (Gaining Knowledge) for years.

She was employed by the Story City Memorial Hospital for years and shared her caring love to hundreds of patients there. Delores was an exquisite Norwegian baker and cook! Her lefse, potato cakes, berliners, krumkakkers and rosettes were highly sought after by everyone!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick, parents, sister-in-law Pauline Grove, sister Betty Rorem and brother Emmett Olson. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law John Dimmick.

She is survived by her son Richard Larson, Story City, IA, daughter Karen Dimmick, Columbus, OH, sister JoAnn Teigland, Klamath Falls, OR, beloved niece Lois Slobe and her husband Rick of Ames, IA, and brother-in-law Harold Rorem, Minneapolis, MN. She is also survived by her loving granddaughter, Jennifer Emanuele, husband Mike and twin great-grandchildren, Effie and Dean all of Columbus, OH. She will also be missed greatly by a host of friends.

Memorials: Hope Ministries, Bethany Life, Riverside Bible Camp, Elim Lutheran Church or Bethel Lutheran Church.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 10 at 10:30 a.m. at Elim Lutheran Church in Randall. Burial was in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
