Webster City Freeman, Webster City, Monday, February 21, 1927
Willis J. Rothrock, died at 2:20 o'clock Saturday a.m. at the home of his sister, Mrs. M.E. Lenhart, 744 First street. Mr. Rothrock, whose home was near Thompson, had been seriously ill for some time. He had been taken to Iowa City for treatment and a few days ago was brought back to this city.
He leaves a wife and five children. One brother and four sisters also mourn his death.

Willis John Rothrock was the fourth of nine known children of Isaac Rothrock (1825-1899) and Anna Maria Schnee Rothrock (1822-1918), who married 20 aug 1854 at Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. The family moved from Pennsylvania to Ogle County, Illinois in 1855; and then to Butler County, Iowa in 1856 and to Hamilton County, Iowa in 1882.
Willis first married to Carrie (some records show Cherry, was that a nickname?) Georgiana Nesbet (or Nesbit?) (1878-1903) on 19 Oct 1898 at Winona, Winona County, Minnesota. Willis and Carrie were the parents of two known children, namely:
1. Mae Eva Rothrock Cage (1900-1994)
2. Sadie Minerva Rothrock Seibert Gage (1902-1977)After Carrie died, Willis remarried to Jean (went by Jane) C. Hamilton (1875-1958) on 11 Jul 1906 at Webster City, Hamilton County, Iowa. Willis and Jane were the parents of four known children, namely:
3. Leona Minnie Rothrock (1907-1911)
4. Elva Violet Rothrock Day (1909-1996)
5. Clifford Willis Rothrock (1913-1981)
6. Edna Jane Rothrock Fisher (1919-1995)Willis was a farmer and had farms in Webster City, Iowa and Mankato, Minnesota.
