Cliff W. Rothrock, 68, longtime Webster City resident and businessman, died early Sunday morning at his home, 605 Brewer St. He had been in ill health the past month.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Congregational, UCC church with Rev. Alva Hohl officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery where flagfolding ceremonies will be conducted by American Legion Post 191. Friends may call at the Foster Funeral home until 10 a.m. Wednesday when the casket will be taken to the church.

Clifford W. Rothrock, son of John W. and Jane Hamilton Rothrock, was born March 28, 1913 at Mineota, Minn. He was reared and educated in Webster City.

He served with the U.S. Army Engineers in the South Pacific from 1943 until 1946.

He was married Sept. 5, 1943 to Lou Brinkman, and the couple had always since resided in Webster City. He owned and operated the Maid-Rite cafe. In 1960, he became an insurance agent for the New York Life Co. with which he was still associated.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter and one son, Shari L. Rothrock, Webster City, and David W. Rothrock, Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Willard (Elva) Day, Webster City and Mrs. Alonzo (Edna) Fisher of Cedar Rapids; a half-sister, Vera Kepler, and also several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and a half-brother.

He was a member of the First Congregational, UCC church, the Insurance Underwriters Association, the Webster City Chamber of Commerce, the American Legion and the Elks lodge.
