Alta Cronin, 92, a former Webster City resident, died in Richmond, VA., on January 27, 2006. At the time of her death, Alta was a resident of Our Lady of Hope Health Care Center in Richmond. Mrs. Cronin lived with her family in Webster City from 1945 until 1960. During this time she was an active member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of America. Alta also participated in various parent-teacher organizations in the Webster City Schools. Two of the Cronin children graduated from Lincoln High School. In 1960 the family moved to Charlottesville, VA. Alta's husband, Ray, was comptroller for Morton Frozen Foods in nearby Crozet, VA. In 1978 Alta and Ray moved to Midlothian, VA., a suburb of Richmond.

Mrs. Cronin was preceded in death by Ray in 2001. She is survived by her five children: Mary Jane (Omaha, NE), Pat (Indianapolis, IN), Janet (Charlottesville, VA), Donna (Midlothian, VA), Ken (Roanoke, VA). Alta had 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church on February 1, 2006.
