Evelyn Mary Jane Frakes Widmann, 90, of Webster City, died Saturday, February 4, 2006 at the Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Dayton with Rev. Bruce Lakamp officiating. Burial will be in the Cass Township Cemetery northeast of Webster City. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Foster Funeral & Cremation Center.

Evelyn Mary Jane Frakes, daughter of Walter and Laura Baker Frakes was born on December 16, 1915 in Renwick, Iowa. She graduated from Woolstock High School in 1934. On May 22, 1939 she married Waldo C. Widmann at Elks Point, South Dakota. The couple resided in Woolstock and later moved to a farm south of Woolstock. In the middle 1940's the couple farmed south of Webster City. In 1962, they moved to a farm near Stratford and in 1965, the coule retired from farming and moved to an acreage between Boone and Ames. In 1977, the couple moved to Stratford. Mr. Widmann died on April 27, 1995. Mrs. Widmann moved to Webster City in June of 2000.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Darwin Pruismann and Janet and Larry Bullock of Webster City, Karen and Robert Kist of Eagle Grove; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Bobbie Widmann of Flasher, N.D., Roger and Cathy Widmann of Iowa Falls, Randy and Karen Widmann of Tusin, CA.; 20 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, James Wilson, Ronald Norton of Eagle Grove; sisters-in-law, Bertha Frakes Parker, Lila Frakes, Vivian Frakes and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Waldo, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Melvin, Charles, Gale, Earl and Royce Frakes; and sisters Elvira Reed, Dorothy Wilson and Linda Norton.

Mrs. Widmann was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Dayton. Her memberships included the Silver Thimble Club, Farm Bureau Women's Club and she enjoyed volunteering her time to help the youth in 4-H activities. She also enjoyed sewing and was an avid quilter. She loved gardening, solving puzzles and crossword puzzles. She especially loved all of her grandchildren.
