Obituary.

Mr. Gust William Anderson, was born in Holsocken, Elfsborg lan, Westergotland, Sweden, February 27, 1845. He came to America in 1864, and made his home in Illinois for several years. In 1872 he came to Iowa, and settled on a farm in Hamilton county, four and one-half miles south and west of Stanhope.

Mr. Anderson was married to Miss Emma C. Anderson at Lynn Center, Illinois, December 23, 1874, and their marriage was blessed with 8 children, 5 sons and 3 daughters. The family has continually resided in this community, and being among the earliest settlers, Mr. Anderson was well known and highly respected.

Having been confirmed in the Lutheran faith while in Sweden he continued in the same faith and was a faithful member of the Swedish Lutheran Church of Stratford, Iowa for many years.

Mrs. Anderson died Dec. 2, 1902, also two daughters, Mrs. Robert Fisher and Mrs. Ralph Fisher, preceded the father in death, having died during the Flu epidemic.

Mr. Anderson was the last one of a family of 7 children. He departed from this life after a few weeks of illness, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Eric Glad, on Monday evening, April 27, 1925, at the ripe age of 80 years and two months.

Remaining to miss and mourn a loving father are six of his children: Ed. A., Hilder J., and Harris W. of Stratford, Iowa; Luther M. and Wilgert A. of Sioux City, Iowa, and the daughter, Mrs. Eric Glad of Stanhope, Iowa, and twelve grandchildren and other relatives and a host of friends.

The funeral service was held on Thursday, April 30, from the home of his son, Harris Anderson on the old homestead, conducted by Rev. Edwin Sahlen of South Marion. A quartette from the Lutheran church in Stratford sang three of his favorite songs. The large attendance and the rich floral contributions gave evidence of the love and esteem in which Mr. Anderson was held by the people of this community.

Interment was made in the South Marion cemetery following the services at the home.

"Rest in peace and blessed be thy memory."

Card of Thanks.
We wish to express, our heartfelt thanks to our friends, for their sympathy, at the death of our beloved father, also for the singing and the beautiful floral offerings.
The Children.
