David D. Hansel, age 50 of Williams, died on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at his farm near Williams. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Williams with burial at Rose Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before services on Saturday.

David D. Hansel was born on September 25, 1963 in Story City to Robert and Shirley (Summerfield) Hansel. He graduated from NE Hamilton High School in 1982 where he was a member of 4H. David was baptized in Rose Grove and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He was a farmer all of his life and enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, races, working on his farm equipment and restoring tractors.

David is survived by his parents Robert and Shirley; his two sisters Linda (Mike) Richter and their children Sarah, Megan and Zachary of Glendale, AZ and Sherri Hansel of Terrell, TX; his aunts and uncles Gerald Hansel of Hubbard, Merlyn and Shirley Evans of Ellsworth and Dan and Rebecca Summerfield of Jonesborough, TN and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his Uncle Carrol.
