Mrs. Textrum Dies Suddenly

Lizzie Textrum was born in Sweden, Nov. 24, 1832. Married to Hans Textrum in 1862. Emigrated to America with her husband in 1869 and settled in Boone Co., Iowa. Moved to her late home in Hamilton Co. in 1885, where she resided until her death Feb. 24, 1905, being seventy-two years and three months old.

Mrs. Textrum had with the exception of the last few years enjoyed the best of health. The last three or four years she had short spells of heart trouble also of asthma. She had a touch of the grip the last two weeks but was up and about most of the time. Even the last day she helped get dinner and partook as usual. After this she laid down for a rest at the same time giving directions as to what she wanted done. She folded her hands in perfect contentment and enjoyment of her rest and made the remark, "I feel so good." These were her last words. Shortly afterward attention was called to her room by hearing a heavy breath - she was gone.

The funeral services were held at the Swedish M.E. church, of which she has been a consistent member since its organization and was conducted by Revs. Granberg and Elder Millen of Des Moines, and the remains laid at rest in the Olson Cemetery. Though a blustery and stormy day, yet a host of friends showed her their respect and love and followed her to the last resting place.

She leaves a husband, three children and a host of friends to mourn her loss, one son had preceded her. She was a kind and considerate wife - a wise and good mother - a true friend. A great void emphasized by its silence will now take the place she once occupied in the home circle, yet the thought of her spiritual greatness will emolliate the anguish of her mourners.

Born Lisa Hansdotter on Nov. 24, 1832 at Enviken, Dalarna, Sweden the daughter of Hans Jånsson and Margreta Larsdotter. Married Hans Eriksson Tägström (Textrum) on Nov. 2, 1862 at Enviken.
