PASSED AWAY AT HER HOME HERE SUNDAY AFTER A LONG ILLNESS

Mrs. Frank Rose, Who Had Been in Poor Health for Number of Years, Succumbs

Mrs. Frank Rose passed away Sunday at the family residence in the south part of town. Mrs. Rose had been in poor health for several years but had recently failed quite rapidly. Funeral services were held from the local M.E. church yesterday afternoon.

Matilda Christina Quick was born in Stockholm, Sweden, June 5, 1860, and passed away at her home here on December 1, 1929, at the age of 69 years, 5 months, 26 days.

In 1869 she came to America with her parents and located with them in Hamilton County.

She is survived by her bereaved husband, Frank Rose, and two sons, Columbus and Franklin Rose. Three brothers and two sisters, also survive and they are: Charles, John and Otto, all of Stratford; Miss Selma Quick, of Stratford and Mrs. Henry Knuth, of Ogilvie, Minn. A large circle of good friends also mourn her passing.

Mrs. Rose had not been in good health for many years. However, she was able at times to be up and around her home and always held a cheerful outlook on life although she suffered at times considerably. The cause of her sudden death was an affliction of the heart.

Funeral services were held from the family home and from the Methodist church at 2 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon of last week and were conducted by the pastor, Rev. C.R. Yeager. The remains were laid to rest in the South Marion Cemetery.

Matilda Kristina Amalia Johansdotter Qvick was born June 5 (Swedish records show June 8) and baptized on June 9 in Västra Harg, Östegötland, Sweden. Shortly thereafter she moved with her parents to Nödesta, Västerhaninge, Stockholm, Sweden were they lived until they emigrated to America in 1868.
