Obituary

Mrs. Anna Peterson

Last rites for the late Mrs. Anna Peterson were held Monday, April 12, at 1:45 o'clock from the C.O. Isaacson residence; and at 2 o'clock from First Methodist Church with Dr. Edwin A. Briggs in charge. Dr. Briggs spoke on Psalm 46.1, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

Drexel Peterson, of Boone, sang two appropriate selections accompanied by Mrs. L.E. Spring at the organ, "What a Friend", and "I Look Not Back". Following scripture and prayer, the obituary was read. In charge of the flowers were Mrs. Ruth Hicks, Mrs. A.E. Butler, Mrs. M.E. Pomeroy and Miss Pearl Swedlund. Following the services the remains were interred in the South Marion cemetery, the following being casket bearers: Anton Johnson, John Arringdale, Raymond Blaess, George Blaess, Charles Berggren and John Carlstedt.

Anna Virgie Beatrice Peterson, daughter of Mrs. C.O. Isaacson, was born near Stanhope, December 7, 1898 and succumbed at the Boone County Hospital at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 1942, at the age of 44 years, 4 months and 4 days. She had not enjoyed good health for some weeks and a few days before her death submitted to an operation.

Her entire life with the exception of the last few years had been spent in the vicinity of her birth where she attended the rural schools and was confirmed in the South Marion Methodist church. The last few years she had resided at Boone where she often ministered to her aging parents. For some years she was a member of the local unit of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was united in marriage to Embert Peterson, also of this community, in 1916. He met death in 1939 in an automobile accident east of Boone. Surviving are her aged parents, two sons, Harold and Arlin, both of near Stanhope, two sisters, Mrs. Justin Anderson, of Stratford, and Mrs. Otto Westling, of Luverne, two brothers, Arthur Isaacson, of Stratford, and Wallace Isaacson, of Boone. Two brothers died in infancy.

The many friends of the bereaved parents and other relatives extend sincerest condolences in this their hour of sorrow.
