OBITUARY

Henry Olson

Henry Olson was born in Gastrickland, Gefleborgs lan, Sweden, October 2, 1841. He came to this country in the year 1864, and was married to Anna Hanson, February 7, 1868. Their home was blessed with seven children, four having preceded their father in death. Mr. Olson was confirmed in the Lutheran faith and had been a faithful member of the local Lutheran church. He died at his home here January 21, 1927, at the age of 85 years, 3 months, 19 days.

He leaves to mourn his departure his faithful wife, and three children. They are: Miss Viola Olson, Mrs. E.W. Monson and Fred E. Olson, all of whom are living in this section. He also leaves to mourn, four grandchildren, one great grandchild, two sisters in Sweden, besides a host of friends.

Deceased was for many years a farmer in this community and worked on his farm until a few years ago when the family purchased a home here and he had since made his home here. During the years that he was strong and able to work, nothing gave him more pleasure and enjoyment than to keep his property in town in the finest possible shape. The past few years, however, he had been in very poor health and he did not regain it as time passed and a short time ago was forced to remain in his bed. From that time on he failed rapidly until his death.

Funeral services were held in the Stratford Lutheran Church Sunday afternoon. Rev. Gunnar Goransson delivered the sermon and spoke a word of comfort. A short burial service was held at the South Marion Cemetery where the remains were laid to rest.
