Esther Monson Dies Thursday

SOUTH MARION (Special) - Mrs. Leonard (Esther) Monson, 83, died early this Thursday morning, Dec. 17 at the Hamilton County Hospital at Webster City.

Mrs. Monson was a resident of the Stratford Community until the death of her husband in 1956, when she came to Boone to reside at the Mrs. Amy Berggren residence, 110 So. Story street. She had recently moved to the Crest View Manor at Webster City.

Survivors include one son, LuVerne Monson of Webster City; three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Vernice) Nelson of Webster City, Mrs. Charles (Goldie) Clabaugh of Stanhope and Mrs. Harold (Ethel) Mellgren of Des Moines; and several grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 19, at 2 p.m. at the Hanson Funeral Home at Stratford, with the Rev. Robert Carlson in charge. Burial will be at the South Marion cemetery, south of Stratford.
