Obituary
F.L. Lundstrom

Last rites for F.L. Lundstrom were held Thursday afternoon with a service in the family home at 1:30 o'clock and in the Baptist church in town at 2 o'clock. Both were conducted by the Rev. James Selander, Baptist pastor who used for his text words found in I Corinthians, 13:12. "For now we see through a glass darkly, but then face to face now I know in part but then I shall know just as I also am known." Mrs. LeRoy Fisher and Mrs. Oscar Borg sang "The City Four Square" and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye," Mrs. James Selander playing the accompaniments.

The remains were interred in the South Marion cemetery and the following were the casket bearers: Oscar, Alfred and Leonard Erickson, brothers of Mrs. Lundstrom, Fred Elliott, Albert Hubner and Albert Olson.

Fredrick Levin Lundstrom was born in Paxton, Ill., June 13, 1875. He died in the county hospital in Boone, Oct. 19, 1942, at the age of 67 years, 4 months, 6 days. His death was due to heart disease from which he had been a sufferer for some time.

Left to mourn his death are: his wife, two sisters, Mrs. Ila Dahl, of Houston, Texas, and Miss Anna Lundstrom, of Chicago, Ill., and one brother, John T. Lundstrom, of Los Angeles, Calif. Also surviving are three nieces, two nephews, several cousins and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, who died in infancy.

Deceased was converted and baptized when a youth of about 16 years after which he entered the ministry of the gospel. He enrolled in the Baptist college, Grand Island, Nebr., and later attended Morgan Park seminary, Chicago, Ill. During his student days he was a missionary in Minnesota and Illinois and also was student pastor of the Penn Ave. Baptist church in Des Moines. When he was graduated in 1901 he accepted the pastorate of the local Baptist church where he served with real progress until the fall of 1903. He left for Chicago that year and on Nov. 25, 1903, was united in marriage to Tilda May Erickson.

They lived in that city until 1917 when they moved to Stratford and purchased the farm, one and a half miles south of Stratford, which had since been their home. While in Chicago, he united with Blairs Masonic Lodge No. 393 and remained a member during his lifetime.
