Oscar A. Lundquist

Oscar Alfred Lundquist was born Aug. 13, 1878, on a farm near Stratford and passed away Nov. 23, 1950. He was the son of Gustaf and Anna Lundquist and had lived in the community all of his life. He worked as a farm hand tiler. His father, mother, one brother and two sisters preceded him in death several years ago. Surviving are two brothers, Gust and John Lundquist of Stratford, two sisters, Mrs. Jennette Dickson and Mrs. John Malmberg of Boone, one sister-in-law, Mrs. Gust Lundquist, five nephews, three nieces, two brothers-in-law, John Dickson and John Malmberg, both of Boone, other relatives and friends. He was a kind and loving brother.

Last rites were held in the Jackson funeral home at Stratford, Monday, Nov. 27, with the Rev. A.G. Heddle officiating. Two songs were sung by Mrs. Harold Westrum, "Rock of Ages," and "Below the Sunset," accompanied by Mrs. W.R. Holstrum at the piano. Following the services the remains were interred in the South Marion cemetery. The pallbearers were Elmer Ferlen, Clifford Runyan, T.H. Ferlen, John Dickson, J.R. Gustafson and John Malmberg.
