C. Richard (Dick) Mason, 59, Lake Forest, Illinois, died Sunday, November 28 after a lengthy illness.

The son of Charles and Reba Mason, he was born on January 26, 1942 in Webster City, Iowa. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1964 and then went on to get an MBA from Wharton Business School in Pennsylvania. He was the owner of Franke Gear Company in Chicago.

Survivors include: his wife, Mary, a daughter, Laura Kirkegaard (Eric), Kewaskum, WI; a son, Chuc Mason (Dianna), Hainesville, IL; three granddaughters, Julianne, Gabrielle and Berit; and one sister, Harriet Short (Gary), Independence.
