Karen R. Murra, 60, Webster City, died at Southfield Care Center Sunday, Feb. 28. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Northlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa Falls. Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. John Grebner officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster Funeral Home in Webster City.

Karen Raye Burgstrum, daughter of Grover and Bella Slattengren Burgstrum was born Oct. 23, 1938. She graduated from Iowa Falls High School. On Dec. 29, 1957 she married William Murra at Iowa Falls. They moved to Webster City from Iowa Falls in 1967. The couple later divorced. She was employed at Riverside Grocery until its closing. She then was employed with The Newcastle Inn (currently named The Executive Inn) until the late 1980's. She then worked for Steve's Super Valu. She entered Southfield Care Center in 1993 where she resided until her death.

Survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Chris and David Nessa, Becky and Douglas Myers, all of Webster City, three sons and a daughter-in-law, Robin Murra, Des Moines, Craig Murra, Knoxville and Jeff and Carla Murra of Des Moines; ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a sister, Marsh Phannebecker, Orlando, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and prior to her illness was active in the Webster City Women's Bowling Association.
