OBITUARY
Jonas Vedeen

Jonas Vedeen died at the family residence northeast of Stratford Monday morning at 5:15 o'clock.

Deceased was for many years a constant sufferer and his taking off is but a relief from his sufferings, although his sorrowing relatives will miss him, for he was a good father and husband. The funeral was held from the home Tuesday and the remains interred in the Oakwood cemetery [South Marion Cemetery].

JONAS VEDEEN

Jonas Vedeen died at his home northeast of Stratford at 5:30 o'clock a.m., Monday, Oct. 20, 1902, at the age of 74 years, 9 months and 4 days.

The deceased was born in Ovanåker, Hälsingland, Sweden, January 16, 1828. He was married in 1849 and immigrated to America in 1867. His wife [Ella Ericsdotter] preceded him to that eternal city. She died Feb. 13, 1896, since which time he has been very feeble. He was a member of the Swedish M.E. church for many years. Four children - Mrs. Peter Peterson, Mrs. Swan Stoner, George and Jonas Vedeen, survive him.

These children together with a brother and sister, and many other relatives and friends, mourn the loss of a kind and faithful father, brother and friend.

The funeral was held from the home at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, Rev. F.L. Lundstrom conducted the services. A large number were in attendance to sympathize with the bereaved and show their last tribute of love to the departed.

The remains were interred in the Olson cemetery.
