Dale Tuel, 65, of Stratford, Iowa, passed away at teh Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa on Friday morning, September 19, 2003 due to cancer.

He was born on August 2, 1938 in Lehigh, Iowa the son of William and Kathryn (Richey) Tuel.

On October 7, 1960 he married Patricia Erickson at Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dale attended Dayton High School. He was a veteran serving in the Navy. Dale was employed as a steamfitter at Iowa State University in Ames for 34 years.

He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford.

His parents, two brothers, Mike Tuel, Tim Tuel, and his father-in-law, Arvid Erickson, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Pat, of Stratford; two daughters, Jody Johnson and her husband Scott of Libson, Iowa, Holly Stauffer and her husband Tanner of Jefferson, Iowa; two sisters, Beth Hagge of Winthrop, Iowa, Billie Westphal and her husband Dan of Colorado Springs, Colorado; four grandchildren, Nickolas Johnson and Taylor Johnson, both of Libson, Iowa, Allen Fisher and Brady Stauffer both of Jefferson, Iowa; mother-in-law Velma Erickson of Stratford; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held on Tuesday morning, September 23 at 10:00 a.m. at the Stratford Baptist Church with Layperson Gina Spohnheimer and Rev. Kent Kastler officiating. Interment with flag presentation by the Fredrick Sonksen Post #576 of Stratford was in South Marion Cemetery south of Stratford.

Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Stratford was in charge of arrangements.
