Minnie Maude Guthrie was born on March 15, 1878 and passed away at her home in Stratford Sunday noon, December 10, 1916, at the age of 38 years, 8 months, 25 days.

She was born and raised in Hamilton County and on April 20, 1904, was united in marriage to Fred Jacobson, who preceded her to the heavenly home on August 28, 1905.

She leaves to mourn her passing away one little daughter, Clara, her mother, one brother, four sisters, and a host of relatives and friends.

Deceased had been a sufferer from Bright's disease for four years and death came as a blessed release from untold suffering during the years of her suffering. She was always cheerful and made a desperate struggle to get well and in the last hours of her life she showed the same courage that had sustained her through her long illness. She was prepared to go when ever the summons came and had been a faithful member of the Methodist church since childhood and she was universally beloved by all who knew her.

Thou art gone safe in God our loved one,
But our hearts with grief are sore.
And we hope to meet you dear one,
With our Savior evermore.

The funeral services were held from the M.E. church yesterday afternoon, Rev. H.I. Pharo in charge. The remains were laid to rest beside those of her husband in the South Marion Cemetery.
