Henry Hanson Dies at 74

Henry W. Hanson, 74, died at 4:45 p.m. Friday at the Hamilton County Hospital where he had been a patient the past week. He had been in failing health the past three months.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Carlson of Stanhope officiating. Burial will be in South Marion Cemetery near Stratford.

Henry Williams Hanson, son of Olaf and Bertha [Hove] Hanson, was born Aug. 23, 1877, on a farm in Marion Township, Hamilton County. He was reared and educated in that community.

He farmed for 45 years in Marion Township and also was a stock buyer. Then he lived for several years in Michigan, and for the past six years had been a resident at the county home at Webster City.

He is survived by five brothers and one sister: Joe of Jewell, Dave of Roland, Frank of Colorado Springs, Andy of Saginaw, Mich., Gus of Watertown, S.D., and Mrs. Albert Newman of Fort Dodge; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother, Clarence, who died in infancy.

He was baptized in the Methodist faith and was a member of the South Marion Methodist Church.
