ANOTHER OLD SETTLER CALLED HENCE

Hans Dixon Died in Stratford on the First of February at Age of 76 Years

Stratford, Feb. 3 - Special to the Freeman-Tribune; Hans Dixon was born in Helsingland, Sweden, March 30, 1833. In 1862 he was married to Martha Anderson and in 1866 they came to America. They located at Bishop's Hill, Illinois, where they remained one year, coming to Marion township, Hamilton county, Iowa, in 1867, where they located on their farm, remaining there until December 1, 1898, when they moved to Stratford, Iowa. He died February 1, 1910, aged 76 years, 8 months and 1 day.

To Mr. and Mrs. Dixon were born six children, two girls and four boys. The two youngest sons and both daughters preceded the father to the better land.

Mr. Dixon was a most highly respected pioneer settler of Hamilton county, a good man, and his friends were numbered by his acquaintances. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved wife and sons.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist church today, conducted by Rev. C.G. Bengston, and the remains were laid at rest in the South Marion cemetery.
