Obituary

Mrs. John Drug, Sr., passed to her final rest at about 8 o'clock Sunday evening, Oct. 25th, at her home in Stratford having reached the advanced age of 85 years.

Anna Oman was born in Ljusdal, Hälsingland, Sweden, Oct. 13, 1811. On Oct. 12, 1832 she was united in marriage to John Drug and they came to America in 1852. They have been located in Iowa for over 30 years, being among the pioneer settlers of Hamilton Co. She was a model true and consistent Christian woman from her youth and her place in the hearts of those near and dear to her can never be filled. In her death an aged husband is bereft of the companionship of his aged partner, and three children, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren are left to mourn the loss of a beloved mother, besides the many friends who have always highly respected and esteemed her.

The funeral services were held at their home in town and also at the Swedish Methodist church south of town, with the sermon by the pastor, Rev. Levahn.
