Memorial services for Kendall (Bud) Schwiebert, 79, Webster City, were held Tuesday at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Travis Schmidt officiating. Inurnment was at the Cass Township Cemetery, north of Webster City. American Legion Post #191 conducted the graveside military rites.

Mr. Schwiebert died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999 at the Southfield Care Center.

Kendall Frederick Schwiebert, son of Calvin and Clara Callies Schwiebert, was born Dec. 28, 1919 on a farm north of Webster City. He attended White Fox-Cass #3 and Webster City High School. On December 7, 1941, he married Micky Loughry at Blairsburg. During World War II, he served in the U,S. Army Air Corps in the Philippines, New Guinea and Australia, as a mechanic and chauffeur. Following his discharge, he farmed north of Webster City then in the Ellsworth area. The family moved to Webster City in 1954. He worked in Webster City at service stations, grocery stores, National Chiropractic and Nissen for 23 years. Mrs. Schwiebert died on Sept. 16, 1985. On June 21, 1986, he married Grace Olson at Webster City. The couple resided in Story City. He moved to Southfield Care Center in June of 1995.

He is survived by his wife, Grace; daughters and sons-in-law, Bernice and Robert Goretska of Webster City, MaryAnn and Dean White of Keokuk, Karen and Robert Camp of Webster City; step-daughter, Donna Teigland of Sun City, AZ., grandchildren, Gina Reagles, Marc and Kendall Anderson, Lance and Julie Camp; several step-grandchildren, of which, two are Keith Harvey and Jolene Lang; six great-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren, sister, Evelyn Noffke, and brother, Robert Schwiebert, both of Webster City; nieces and nephews.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Rob Goretska in 1983, his parents and a sister, Velma Hanson.

He is a third generation member of St. Paul's Lutheran, and served in various church offices, St. Paul's Men's Club, American Legion Post #191 and Amalgamated Meat Cutters Local P31.

The family requests memorials be given to the Hamilton County Hospice/Respite or St. Paul's Lutheran Organ Fund.
