Etta Pruismann, 90, Stratford, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 1998 at the Stratford Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral Home with Lyle Schober and Bruce Van Stelton officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday and prior to the service on Wednesday.

Etta Johannah Johnson, daughter of Reinder and Dena Hassebrock Johnson, was born July 17, 1908 on a farm east of Kamrar. She attended a rural school near Lakota. On June 20, 1936 she married Emal Pruismann at Blue Earth, MN. The couple farmed at Titonka, Kamrar, Webster City and Jewell. He died on May 23, 1973. She continued to reside at Jewell. She moved to the Stratford Care Center in January of 1988.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Esther and Glen Meyer of Independence, MO., Edith Pruismann of Des Moines, Erma and Keith Bockoven of Cedar Falls, son Emel Duwayne Pruismann of Jewell, grandchildren, Doris Sweet, DeAnn Harrington, Janelle Stark, Morgan Meyer, Avis and Jacob Pruismann; five great-grandchildren, sisters, Moline Eckman of St. James, MN., Jane Espland of Blue Earth, MN., Katherine Johnson of Cedar Falls, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Elaine and Emily, parents, brothers Reinder, George and Andrew Johnson, and a sister, Elizabeth Hutchinson.
