E. Lucille Peterson, 101, Stratford, died Thursday, July 27, 2000 at the Stratford Nursing and Rehab Center, where she had been a patient since May 1997. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Stratford Lutheran Church with Pastor Raymond Roden officiating. Burial will be at the Dayton Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Stratford from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and at the church from 8:30 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service.
E. Lucille Peterson, the daughter of Carl and Matilda (Peterson) Olson, was born Sept. 5, 1898 at Boxholm. She was a 1917 graduate of Dayton High School and for the past 60 years had lived in Stratford. On March 13, 1920 she married Wesley Peterson at Dayton. She worked in the Stratford grocery store and was postal clerk for 10 years before retiring in 1970.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Gerry Peterson, Dayton; one daughter, Maxine McLeish, Cherokee Village, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her husband; two sons, Quentin and Maurice; her parents; one granddaughter; and several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Peterson was a member of the Stratford Lutheran Church and American Legion Auxiliary.
