Richard Eyanson, 71, of Webster City died Monday, Oct. 5 at the Hamilton County Public Hospital.

Mr. Eyanson was cremated. Memorial services will be held Thursday, Oct. 8 at 1:30 p.m. at the Church of Christ with Ray Artrip, Robert Scott and Tim Worstell officiating. Burial of the ashes will be at a private family service at Graceland Cemetery.

Richard Eyanson, son of Joseph and Virgil Louise Young Eyanson, was born June 9, 1921 at Nevada. He was educated in the Nevada schools and graduated in 1939.

On May 16, 1942 he married Beulah Gregory in Webster City. The couple resided in Nevada for one year.

During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in Australia, New Guinea, the Philippines and Japan.

He was employed for 21 years with Brin's Furniture and for 12 years with the Webster City school system. He retired because of failing health.

Survivors include his wife Beulah; two sons, Greg of Clarion and Chris of Webster City; one daughter, Brenda Snider of Alexander; four grandchildren, Allison and Jennifer Eyanson and Jessica and Travis Snider; two brothers Tom and Glen Eyanson of Nevada; two sisters JoAnn Lewis of Fort Madison and Mary Lou Eyanson of Nevada; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

He was a member of the Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon and a church board member. He was also a member of AMI Care and Share of Hamilton County.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given.
