Vera Rasmussen, 85, Webster City, died Friday, July 21, 2000 at her home. There will be no visitation and no services are scheduled at this time. Mrs. Rasmussen was cremated.

Vera Beard, daughter of John and Marina Bennett Beard, was born on June 13, 1915 at Oskaloosa. She graduated from Webster City High School in 1933. In the early 1930's she was employed at the Zitteral Mills for more than five years. On August 18, 1940 she married Clifford Rasmussen at Fort Dodge. The couple made their home at Webster City. In addition to farming, she was employed at Spurgeons department store for 35 years before retiring.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Kenny Malaise, Webster City, two grandchildren, one great-grandson, a sister, Hazel Pingle, Webster City and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Rasmussen was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Daniel, Forrest and John LeRoy Beard, sisters Gertrude Beard and Opal Glaman. [obituary says Gilman but headstone at Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, Iowa says Glaman]
