Gary Donald Frein, 54, Webster City, died Friday, July 21, 2000 at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City. Funeral mass will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Rev. Jack Flaherty, celebrant, officiating. Burial will be in the Story City Cemetery at 1 p.m. Monday. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Sunday at the Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City with a wake service at 4 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday one hour prior to the service time at the church. A memorial fund has been established in his name.

Gary Donald Frein, son of Donald Edward and Dorothy Rayhons Frein, was born Jan. 8, 1946 at Garner. He married Joyce Banner on June 18, 1994. He worked as a farmer and had worked for the City of Webster City. He lived in Webster City since 1992 and prior to that in Stratford and rural Forest City. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

Survivors are his wife, Joyce of Webster City, three daughters, Sheila Baldwin of Iowa City, Amy Frein of Algona and Kris Frein of Garner; his mother, Dorothy Frein of Forest City; three brothers, Thomas Frein of Plainsboro, NJ., James Frein of Mason City, Donald Frein of Farmington, MN., a sister, Kathy Matson, Clear Lake.

He was preceded in death by his father.
