Evelyn Wurch, 90, Strawberry Point, a former Webster City resident, died Friday, June 30, 2000 at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home, where she had resided the past five years. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Travis Schmidt officiating. Burial was in the Graceland Cemetery.

Evelyn Augusta Johanna Rieck, daughter of John and Maria Kluss Rieck, was born June 13, 1910 at Belle Plaine. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1928. On Sept. 10, 1928 she married W.W. (Bill) Wurch at Crown Point, Ind. The couple farmed east of Webster City. She had been employed at Farm Journal and the Webster City Credit Bureau. She was also a homemaker. Mr. Wurch died Sept. 26, 1984.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, John and Vivian Wurch, Webster City, daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and James Sargent, Strawberry Point, step-son, Wilbur Wurch, Union City, Calif., four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brother Raymond Rieck and sister Cenelia Wurch.

She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the St. Paul's Ladies Aid.
