Zelda Roberta Reif, 59, Mystic, died Friday, June 30, 2000 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. Services will be held Tuesday, July 4, 2000 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, with Rev. Gary Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery in Mystic. Visitation will be Monday at the funeral home from 2-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the Hospice of Southern Iowa and contributions may be left at or mailed to the funeral home.

She was born on August 23, 1940 in Hamilton County, the daughter of Robert Donald and Bessie Thelma Thompson Parrish. She attended Webster City schools. On Dec. 19, 1958 she was united in marriage to Frank Reif in Webster City. The couple lived in Webster City and Des Moines before moving to Mystic 20 years ago. She worked at the Golden Age Care Center, the Centerville Care Center and most recently helped her daughter at the Red Barn Restaurant in Melrose.

Survivors are her husband, Frank, Mystic; mother Bessie Knapp of Duncombe, children and their spouses, Debbie and Terry Purvis of Gifford, Vickie and Phil Thomas of Ottumwa, Jeff and Debbie Reif of Oskaloosa and Carla and Dan Egbert of Melrose; 11 grandchildren, two brothers Stanley Parrish and John Parrish, both of Webster City, sisters Zola Asklund of Duncombe and Gloria Bell of Norwalk; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and a sister in infancy.
